Anyone who thinks there aren't multiple guys with Murphy's exact views (or something a lot more hostile) on every MLB team and possibly every major pro sports team is completely kidding him/herself.  It amazes me how far people can bury their heads in the sand, or up their own rear ends.

It was referenced in the column linked in the OP.

I mean, the writer even admits that they don't even know if Murphy has changed his mind since making the comments.  And they admit that he developed a friendly personal relationship with Billy Bean (not to be confused with Billy Beane of the A's), the gay man who was originally the subject of Murphy's comments.

It's really a big nothing, but some people can't help but fight pointless battles.
