A 5-10 reliever from Cartagena, Colombia, Romero is a deep sleeper option in the Cubs pipeline. He required two entire seasons to escape the Dominican Leagues. His first season in the states was a collective run through the sprinklers between Mesa, Eugene, and South Bend. in a bit over 40 innings, his ERA was a rather miniscule 0.86.

He's 23.  I'd send him to AA.  If he can't hack that as a reliever by mid-next year, then he's probably an org guy.  Either way, probably not much reason to leave him in the Carolina League.

Just got moved to AA today.  Updated scouting report:  https://2080baseball.com/reports/jhon-romero/

Summary:

Fits middle relief profile at ML level. High-floor prospect who is close to ML ready and could contribute quickly.

No, but that's a good idea, like when everyone hated Comcast broadband so they made up "Xfinity" to give people a new faceless corporate entity to hate.

In the spirit of "Jhon" Romero, I suggest Seth Romero rebrand as Steh.
