They have problems putting the biscuit in the basket.

Hell, they had problems controlling/possessing the ball.

Sad news, today, from the final of the Copa Liberatore (South America's equivalent to the Champion's League) - this year an all Argentinian contest between those bitter rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate. The Final is played over two home-and-away games, and was finely poised at 2-2 after an entertaining first leg, at Boca's ground.Unfortunately violence erupted today, with River 'fans' attacking the Boca player's team bus, resulting in the hospitalisation of two Boca players, and the rest of the team being affected by the tear gas used by the police to try and restore order. The game has had to be postponed to tomorrow (KO 15:00 ET).It's likely that River will face a ban from next season's competition, if not for several seasons.Unfortunately, there is history to this - on a previous meeting, in the Copa, Boca 'fans' pepper sprayed the River players as they came down the tunnel to go onto the pitch...

I hope this sort of soccer tribalism never comes into the MLS. We've had more than our fair share of it, over here, down the years...

the dynamic in the US is a little different.  I think that US crowds tend to skew more family and upscale than football in South America and Europe. I think you are more likely to see violence in American football and some hockey crowds than you would in the MLS.

Considering that it’s easier for me to watch the premier league or the bundes league than the mls (both easily available on sling and both occupying the same time slots each week - in marked contracst to the mls)- I wouldn’t worry about fanatical fandom anytime soon (they probably should worry more about fandom, or maybe the quality of the product than fanatics at this point).

106.7 talkin' about Rooney gettin' arrested in Loudoun CO (by Dulles airport police) for being drunk.        As long as he wasn't driving.       Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeriste, he's from Liverpool.    It's part of the DNA.

It’s what he does. He has a long track record. Probably a few days in Saudi Arabia was too much and he went wild on the plane back.

That's what I was thinking.    Probably got to Dulles and they didn't know who he was  ....  or did (City or Chelsea fans) and were f***in' with him.

United is cutting the cord and enlisting a pay streaming service for video needs. The MLS organization said it has signed a multiyear contract with subscription-based FloSports to carry about 20 of the 34 regular season matches. The remainder will appear on the league’s national TV platforms (Fox Sports, ESPN or UniMas).

MLS has an agreement with ESPN to air most every match on ESPN+ which is far less than $30/month.

FC Cincinnati loses its first MLS game. 4-1. Just another bad Cincy team. Game was in Seattle but give the Cincy fans some credit as they had a full section of fans in the upper deck.

I plan to take in a game or two this year at Nippert.

Nice to have tonight's game on ESPN. The streaming service United are using for most games is $8.99 per month, according to United's website. Still not sure I want to subscribe.

DC played up too.  Great match for the black and red.

Everything I'm hearing is that the "FloFC" stream was a complete disaster today. Glad I didn't waste my money. It's also not available via Amazon Fire TV devices except through the browser, which is pretty lame.

Sounders FC 2-0 so far and look very sharp.

DCU 1-0-1 and played a rather boring game at NYCFC yesterday....
