...zzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzz...I've been hearing remarks like this ever since the NASL days back in the 1970's (remember the old Diplomats telly ads with their little jingle 'we play the game for today'). That remark from another owner about MLS becoming of higher quality than the Premier League and La Liga by that time made me laugh though.

I also notice MLS is still expanding at an NASL clip, that Charlotte just got awarded a team. If they're going to keep expanding like this they really need to go to a two-tiered league with promotion/relegation.

It’s a Ponzi scheme. The only way to keep many of the franchises afloat is the fees paid by the cities that get expansion teams. Eventually it will fall apart.
