MLB Scouting Report:The Padres won each of Peavy's last two starts -- which is significant because they lost 13 of 15 overall after Wednesday's loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Of all teams he has faced, Peavy's worst career ERA is against the Expos/Nationals franchise (6.65).
Against the Dodgers on Tuesday, Loaiza pitched seven innings and gave up four runs on five hits, three of which were long balls to Jeff Kent, Jason Repko and Jason Phillips. He struck out four batters and walked just one. Loaiza has yet to face the Padres this year.
