Kind of depressing to be a Nats fan. Their whole existence they’ve been a laughingstock. Whether they were cellar dwellers losing 100+ games (08, 09) or losing in excruciating fashion in October (12,14,16,17) or missing the playoffs entirely (13, 15, 18).

ESPN had a lengthy in-game interview with Max Scherzer. They asked him
1. How to get MLB players to participate in the Home Run Derby? I like to watch it, but I don't know what you can do to get them to show up.
2. About his stolen base? I have some quickness, but we studied opportunities to try it. I didn't hit as an AL pitcher, with the DH used.
3. His rooting for the Capitals at their game with Ryan Zimmerman (clip shown)? I'm a fan and was happy to support them and see them win. No, I really don't know their players.
4. The All Star game? I'm excited to play in it.

Nats rotation needs a guy like Livan Hernandez. Probably my favorite Nats pitcher of all rime. Ocassionally would get rocked, but more often than not would give you 7 solid innings.
