Watching the ESPN broadcast. At least I was. Team is totally lost on defense.

Buck and Kara were discussing the best passers;  fastest players playing basketball.    Then they got into Rodgers and what's his name.

They’re bored. Who can we get with a top draft pick?

Maybe we can package it to help get some to take Wall’s contract?

throw in Morris and a couple others.

In the end Ernie will probably fire Brooks. They will get a boost and sneak into the playoffs. And Ted will use that to keep Ernie. We are doomed

Wall was my first thought as well.

Ernie will work some voodoo to get himself a parachute  ...  or an extension.    :)

The cap is about ~100 million, next year his contract goes to 37 million and peaks at 46 million. Next year, porter is going to make 26 million and Beal will make 27 m million- that leaves ~ 10 million to fill out the roster- if you think they’re bad this year, just wait

They need to play the younger guys. Can’t get any worse.

Here’s the roster. At least play the first round pick.

Unless I misunderstand it teams have “Bird” rights to resign their own players above the cap and avoid the luxury tax. And there are also the mid level, bi annual and rookie exceptions. As well as two way contracts for guys in the G league. Which includes some of those guys in the roster. So I don’t think it’s as dire as you may think. Which may be a curse. For Bird right reasons I believe Wall is particularly untradable. Few teams would have the room for his salary.  Beal is probably the only one of the so called big three that would return much in a trade.

I had high hopes for the Wiz when Wall came back last year.    He finally appeared to be playing up to his ability.     Not so much physically but by playin' unselfishly.     Then the regression set back in.     He and Gortat didn't get along.    He and Beal don't get along.   It won't be long before he and Howard clash.   He's a very talented basketball player but still plays like a freshman at UK.

This team is hard to watch.    I was only half joking when I said I tune in to hear Buck and Kara.

He wants to be one of the top stars in the league but just doesn’t have all the skills. I think the knee injuries have taken a toll also.

This seems like a good article. I guess the Bird rights don’t apply any more? Also the luxury tax thresholds are set above the salary cap. Unfortunately in addition to the big three they also have both Howard and Mahinmi under contract for next year.  Those were big mistakes. They will end up with retreads to fill up the team just like this year. Look for a Oubre to be traded this year at the deadline since they don’t have the money to sign him.

For me, Otto Porter is the head scratcher.    That's a lot of money.    I hope I wasn't one of the mindfacters that wanted to sign him to the big/max money.

No free agents if you’re over the cap except the mid level, but that’s not getting you much plus Ted has to be willing to pay the luxury tax (you can sign your own guys, but it’s subject to the luxury tax)

On NBA TV. Glad I didn’t watch. They need to fire Brooks. May not be his fault but something needs to be done.

Who has the center been on Golden State the last few years. No one even remembers. Need a star at the forward position.

That’s a freak of a team. You can’t compare to them.  From the few games I’ve seen the wiz are getting killed in the paint.
