its a career thing with him too from what I understand. I mean it makes sense, his whole game is fooling you with trying to guess which of his 5 pitches he is going to throw rather than placement.

This is exactly why Tyler Clippard was converted to relief pitcher.

2016 had a 3 game losing streak before win #24.  2015 was in the middle of a 16-4 run from 5/2 to 5/25 to take the team to 27-18.  2012  had a 2-5 stretch from 5/13 to 5/19 to drop the team to 23-17, before a 6-4 stretch to finis May and then taking off in June.
