I've always wanted Bryce to stay, but infatuation with Soto combined with BH's .225 is making a future of Robles/Soto/Eaton seem pretty enticing. Plus, having the money not spent on Harper to spend elsewhere.
How much is Machado going to cost in free agency? I truly have no clue. He'll probably get traded anyway.
I tend to be reactionary, and I try to recognize and temper it, but I can't help but feel the same. I'm currently loving the dream of rolling with that OF, moving Turner to 2B and getting Machado with the money not being spent on Harper and Murphy. Oh, and re-signing Rendon. Not gonna happen, I'm sure. But no matter what, I hope they'll start grooming Soto to be a 1B.
I think All-Star is a stretch, but if he continues like this, i think he will be one of the favorites to get the Rookie of the Year. I know it's early...
Brian Anderson has an OPS .824, but has 260 at bats. I think Juan Soto with a late start would have to have an OPS at least 100 points higher to be fairly considered for the award of Brian Anderson, assuming everything stays on this course. If Juan Soto even is in the ROY conversation in September it means he has stayed relatively hot and is an emerging star.
I believe Rhys Hiskins finished third in NL ROY last year and he didn't come up until August. So it's certainly possible for Soto to contend depending on the competition.

Or even Trea Turner 2 years ago. When did he come up?
Wow. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/juan-soto-is-already-making-history/
Do you know what his injury was last year?
As Eric Longenhagen wrote when Soto was called up, in recent history, only Alex Rodriguez had less experience in the minors than Soto.
What about Ryan Zimmerman?
Did I miss where it stated that?
The article quoted limited the sample to those players who debuted in the majors as a teenager.
Soto is 19 and has never faced the rigors of a day in, day out MLB season. It's a loooooong slog that will challenge him considering he has probably never played this much in a season. I'm convinced he will be a star but I also expect fatigue to set in during the dog days.
He'll probably handle the dog days a lot better than guys who grew up in the continental U.S.
