I believe they have a stat called "holds", which is exactly what you're describing.

And they call it a blown save whenever a pitcher comes in the game with a lead and leaves the game with the score tied or his team losing regardless of what inning he is pitching in.

When a player comes on in the 8th and blows the lead, they're charged with a blown save.  If they hold the lead, they get a hold.
