wishing there was a good code for a discount for MLB TV, as in Canada, we don't get the single team option, and though (I guess) it isn't that bad, it's $115 for the season..

yeah, not even the Jays.  'rogers' is a telecom company which owns the Jays, and who, not surprisingly, have their own service, so it's probably because of that which caused it not to be offered..

What does "LAC" mean ?

Lerners are cheap. Seems ridiculous to me. But I’m new.

It really never meant anything to start with and now it's really tired.

Too cheap to sign another starting pitcher when they need one.

Mathguy must be good at fishing 'cause his "questions" keep reelin' 'em in.    PB might have a shipmate.

Yeah, it did, and you lived through it. (see payroll circa 2005-2009, among other things) Surprised that you either don't remember or you're in denial.

While you're generally correct, the Lerners didn't buy the Nats until July 2006, so I think their responsibility for player payroll (and other expenditures) really begins in earnest in 2007.

I thought it was generally recognized that the Lerner's tanked the first several years in order to improve their draft positions.  Or is that an urban legend?

Yes, indeed. My mistake. 2007-2010......."The cheap years". LOL

Mindfact?  Fake news?

I accept it as fact.  It was a well executed strategy that laid the groundwork for the well oiled championship machine we have today.

I really do not think the LAC, but they may be guilty of a more serious shortcoming, i.e., where the owner will spend but only when his/their judgement is the determining factor. Where that is the case, I'd personally rather have a "cheaper" owner who doesn't believe that they know best when it comes to personnel.
