Red Carpet Rewards 2018
« on: March 05, 2018, 08:10:04 pm »
Starting a new one since the 2017 one was a good place for sharing points codes and stuff.

Tickets are being loaded to the Nats Plus portal this week (I can actually see mine in the Ballpark app).

Also the Guaranteed Giveaways are available again. $100 (same as last year) for a voucher book for the following promo items:

 2018 Schedule T-Shirt (4/5)
* Sean Doolittle Bobblehead (4/13)
* Nationals Tote Bag (5/2)
* Max Scherzer Cy Young Bobblehead (5/4)
* All-Star Game Tote Bag (6/6)
* Ryan Zimmerman "Ryanaissance" Bobblehead (6/8)
* Bryce Harper Patriotic Bobblehead (7/6)
* Anthony Rendon Bobblehead (8/3)
* Hawaiian Shirt (8/17)
* Trucker Cap (8/31)
* Oktoberfest Stein (9/21)
* Guaranteed Giveaway Item #12 (TBD)

You can buy one book per seat in your plan, I believe.  I hope the TBD item is the Star Wars socks. Anyway, check your tickets account for the Guaranteed Giveaways, under the Special Offers tab.

Oh yeah I forgot about that one, maybe that is the #12. It’s MAT as a Watcher on the Wall.

OD showing in your MLB app??  It's not in mine.  All the other sales say 2 tickets...doesn't say that for OD.

No OD for me either, I bet it shows up later this week when they go on sale.

Yet another March Surprise, the RCR program no longer includes Diamond Club tickets. The Revenue Chief forgot to mention this during the Hot Stove Lunch.

Are they really dicking you guys over this bad each year or is this a typical WNFF overreaction that I keep reading in several threads?

If so...that's very crappy.

They never had many to begin with...I know I logged in many times right when the window opened and there were never any pairs to be had.

It's been a few years but my old SPH got me and my neighbor DC seats through his RCR program.   Man, that was the crapz.    Best part was it was a Barves game and the Nats' won.    The fans in front of us were Barves fans.   We got the tickets for nothing and they paid $126 a seat.   Ah, those were the days.

You did have to get them as soon as they became available. I got in once a year. Other than the Diamond Club the last thing I need is more tickets with a no resell rule.

It's a total over reaction. Most Nats fans prefer to have the terms altered after they have signed the contract.

I have Diamond Club season tickets and have had for a few years. There is a capacity issue in the Diamond Club and there has been for some time. There were a couple of times last season where I had to get really creative in order to exchange two pair to make a 4, and at least one time where we couldn’t get 4 together so we watched the game from the patio—- not a bad outcome, as far as workarounds go, but a workaround nonetheless. I understand blackouts. I understand availability. But if I can’t get 4 seats together to a stupid game against the stupid Reds without waiting till the last minute or paying more, I’m pissed.

Will someone’s inability to use points for a free game in the Diamond Club make or break their decision to renew? Probably not.

Will someone’s inability to exchange unwanted games for wanted ones (without paying a $60/ticket upcharge for HPA seats) make or break their decision to renew? I think it’s going to be a factor.

Either way, someone gets pissed off. Do you want to piss off the person who wants to sit there for free, or the one who is paying to be there?  Because the place is damn near full on a regular basis and you’re not going to be able to accommodate everyone.

Sure, drop the benefit for us regular bleacher seat types, but tell us before we renew. 100% chance the RC knew she was dropping the benefit when she addressed the plan holders last month but kept it to herself.

While I do see the pattern, I agree with Patti...this isn't going to impact renewals...it was pretty much a non-perk anyway.  All the more reason to announce it though...

AKA  dear consumer:  “all this stuff can change at any time.”

The real dicking over has already occured, they increased the points required for seats so much the benefit has been significantly reduced.  Initially, I could get 50% more games at the same (Club) price tier.  I saw Strasmus from free RCR point seats.   50%!

I doubt it's 15% now.

Hey, are you going to try to buy seats with RCR points this year for WNFF v.2?

If so, there's an opportunity for you to solicit points in advance from folks who may be inclined to underutilize them.

Maybe choreograph the big marketing push for a couple of weeks before they would be available for points redemption.

Since you can get tickets 30 days in advance, the push should likely be towards the end of June so we can get our ducks in a row...and hopefully good seats.

Anybody know what this years points redemption tiers are yet?

A hot mess indeed.  A 100% polyester shirt on an August night is going to be hot alright.

Argh!  I can't believe they took out the option of getting Diamond Club seats.  They just keep chipping away at the value of this program.  Maybe I missed it, but where did they announce this?  I don't see the RCR breakdown on the nationals.com website yet and the Nats Access site is currently down for maintenance so I can't check there.
