The one that got away. I never agreed with the trade. Even at the time.

That guy doesn't exist anymore anyways.

Kintzler gives up 3. This pen is still a mess. How on earth was he a former closer??

10th blown lead/loss by the pen on the season so far.

So, after 17 appearances, 16 2/3rds innings, where he gave up 1 earned run, he has a bad inning.  That makes him a mess?

Here's a clue guy - no team has 7 Mariano Riveras in their bullpen.  One bad appearance out of 18 is more than acceptable.

I don't care how many blown leads.  How many blown leads led to losses is what's important.  Not too many.  Last night the offense as well as the bullpen came through big time after the blown lead.

I don't know where you are getting your numbers but he has made 21 appearances , pitched 21.1 innings , gave up 21 hits , BAA .266 and a WHIP of 1.41.

I've asked you this before and I believe that you are posting correctly but can you catalog the 10 blown leads and saves. Thanks

Math is apparently not your friend.  His first batch of appearances were rough.  THE 17 APPEARANCES PRIOR TO LAST NIGHT IS WHAT I'M REFERRING TOO.

Not a freakin' mind reader. I posted total appearances for the year.

I mean, he went a month being nearly perfect.  It's been a topic of discussion on the broadcasts and everything.

He had a good stretch but he makes me nervous. Guys seem to be able to make good contact against him. His WHIP is still 1.4. Not good. He can't throw out his bad games any more than Zimm can.  7 appearances in May and has given up at least a hit in every appearance except one.  Multiple hits in 3 of 7.  So his early outings were overly bad and then went on a hot stretch.  Probably regressing to his mean now.  I see him as a weakness in October.

Sounds like a typical good relief pitcher to me.  I would not want him closing, but pitching the 7th, he's about as solid as it gets.

One of the reasons the MLB board went defunct is ad hominem statements like this and as I recall you were one of the prime offenders.  This forum had a very different culture, and if you cannot refrain from these, I suggest you find another forum, where these sort of attacks are welcome.

How'd you know that his real name is Richard?

As for Ray's comment, i did not see it at first, but when I saw it, I thought both points needed to be made. Ray, you never walk alone.

Can someone please tell me why people were even remotely interested in Wander Suero? He doesn't have swing and miss stuff and he walks a crap ton of batters.

Zuck wrote a few weeks ago that the Nats are high on him, and believe he has a 'wipeout slider'.  65 IP with a 1.79 ERA in AAA and AA last year, including 42 with a 1.70 ERA at Syracuse.  Check out the thread on him in The Farm for a link to a scouting report.

8.93 K/9 last year in Triple A. Doesn't scream "wipeout slider" to me.
