Thinking Reynolds is getting that gig.

And he should. Like his bat.

Should in place of Goodwin. I also have Sanchez coming north until Murph is ready

There is no way that Goodwin isn't on the OD roster. If that's the case, there's not room for both Reynolds and Sanchez. Or am I counting wrong?

If they go with 4 OFs instead of 5, then they can carry 7 IFs (Adams, Sanchez, Reynolds, Difo, Turner, RZ, Ant).

What do you consider Kendrick in this equation?

That's what Im saying. Even if you count Kendrick as an OF, Goodwin still isn't on the team--and I don't see that happening. Theyve been referring to him as the 4th OF all Spring.

VarK will never speak to me again for that.

Of course Kendrick is in the mix and counts against the 11 not a pitcher or catchers.  I don't see Reynolds and Sanchez making it.  I'm not sure if Reynolds has an option, so that might play into who is kept.

Jorge disagrees.

Kendrick, Goodwin, Adams, MI, and Montero are your 2018 opening day bench.  Assume Difo is temporary Murphy, then MI is either Sanchez or Reynolds until Murphy is back.

You and I are saying the same thing. My comment was that both Sanchez and Reynolds won't be on the team. One will have to be in the minors and to your point, that could depend on options.

Reynolds feels like he's been around too long to have options left and Sanchez was called up and down several times last year if I recall.

2012 draftee, 1st added to the Mets roster after 2015.  Looks like only 2 options used up.  The DFA I think was for a FA they signed to get him off the 40 man.

Beard fell off middle of the inning...all went downhill from there. Beard cancer, they're saying.

Continue to be worried about the starting pitching.  Nats are doomed.

Go back and look at last year’s ST stats.

It's not just the stats. Roark is coming off a bad year. Gio is ready to fall totally off the cliff. And no reliable number five.

Maddox had a calming effect on Gio-----other than that game 5-----Gio may not hold up without Maddox  around

Is what that inner voice yells at Gio every time he takes the mound

No. It says don't throw a pitch over the plate. It's bad luck.

Gio had a year much better than his fundamentals. So he’s definitely due for a regression this year and will suck.
Roark had a year much worse than his fundementals. So he’s definitely a different pitcher and will suck this year too.
