w00+!  or Wout might be more accurate.

82 km solo. Vos said she let her go because she thought no way it's the real attack
Having longo-borghini on trek with lizzie probably made it look like she was setting her teammate up

Any particular reason why a “sport” as irrelevant as cycling is discussed as much?

strictly on the basis of # of posts, this is a relatively active topic.  About 75 this year, or 3 pages.  It includes not only racing discussion, but also a lot of posts on riding locally, bikes to buy, etc...  There's a number of members who bike.

Has anyone ridden an e-bike? A former colleague has one and swears by it because he lives in Weehawken and loves the power assist for getting to the top of the cliffs. I’m intrigued by the concept because as I get older I struggle with hills, but they’re rather pricey and I don’t know much about them.

https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/italy-suffer-bike-theft-at-track-world-championships/

Quote
The Italian national team have been hit by a bike theft at the UCI World Track Championships after 20 bikes were taken from their hotel in Lille.

Italy has been the most successful squad at the Worlds in Roubaix this week, picking up seven medals including golds in the men's Team Pursuit and women's Scratch and Elimination races, but thieves have put a major dampener on the week after getting away with 15 track bikes plus 15 other bikes on Friday night.

The Pinarello track bikes, which incorporate titanium 3D-printed handlebars and include the gold-painted bikes that Filippo Ganna, Liam Bertazzo, Jonathan Milan, and Simone Consonni rode to Team Pursuit gold on Thursday, have an estimated value running into the hundreds of thousands of Euros.
...
The bikes of Ganna, Bertazzo, Milan and Consonni are valued at around €30,000 each, with the handlebars alone thought to be worth over €10,000. La Gazzetta reported that local police are assuming that the theft is the work of professionals who knew exactly which van to target despite the safety measures in place.

with Cav, I'm going to guess they send both Jakobsen and Cav to the TdF with Morkov and the A lead out train.  Cav will freelance a bit when the train is not controlling things, hop on Phillipsen's train and otherwise draw out others to launch prematurely, etc...  Sort of the Sagan tactics. Meanwhile, Morkov just delivers Jakobsen in the right spot at the right time.  In theory that'd be compatible.  They may target a particular stage for Cav to get win #35, but I don't think they'll do that on the Champs because he just isn't as good as Phillipsen or Van Aert head to head.

playing around with the idea of getting an indoor trainer.  Probably something I just hook up in place of my rear wheel.  Is there something simple?  Saris or Wahoo are at Spokes.  Is there something else that I should look at?  Peleton looks like their basic model is on sale, without the on-line stuff that makes it fun. I'm probably going to be off the roads and trails most of January and February, so I think I need to commit to this.  Do I need the on-line connections to get something out of it (Zwift or whatever)?

As you mentioned Peleton, someone who went through the comparisons last year ended up settling on a NordicTrack S22i. At least at the time, it was indicated that the yearly cost of the online portion was much less than some of the others, and it was possible to do sufficient work outs etc. without having to go online.  I think the only tweak they did was getting an aftermarket seat that was more comfortable.

I admire you guys that can do a successful home based workout.  I'm rather lazy and have to go to the gym and work with a personal trainer.  I would never willingly push myself as hard as I do without help.
