Mount Washington - I wonder how it compares to the stats on Angliru.  Record is held by Tom Danielson at 49 minutes and change.

The individually timed 7.6-mile race to the summit of Mount Washington attracts riders from around the world. Mount Washington, notorious for its bad weather, is the highest peak in the northeast at 6,288 feet.

“The Hillclimb features an average grade of 12%, with extended sections at 18% and culminates just before the end of the ride at a heart-pounding, leg-cramping 22%,” according to Tin Mountain Conservation Center, organizer of the event, which is its largest fundraiser of the year

First significant Spring results - business as usual, so shaping up well for the Tour.

Jan Ullrich has raised over €40,000 for children in Ukraine after auctioning his custom yellow Pinarello from the 1998 Tour de France.

https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/jan-ullrich-raises-euro40000-for-ukraine-in-auction-of-custom-tour-de-france-bike/

HE won in 1997, and took the lead in 1998 mid-race.  The bike was made up, but Marco Pantani ended up winning, so Ullrich never rode the bike.

I'll not reveal the name, but he's somebody I've admired as a team guy for a team I never liked.  I like a lot of their riders, though.[/quote]

Ineos stated that they were going to target more Classic wins, this season - strategy appears to be working.

Their grand tour prospects are a bit dimmer now, might as well.  Though they'll probably still take the Vuelta.

I thought their race was the Giro.  Haven't they won a few years in a row?  Geoghenhart, Carapaz . . .  Vuelta has been Roglic country, although he had a bad tour of the basque country.

Yeah, he's probably got that one zipped up again.  Re Vuelta, the US TV coverage has been pretty good for the past 2-3 years.  Giro, not so much.

I like Bob and Christian.

The tour broadcast with the English pro on the motorcycle (adam blythe?) is better than Steve Porino because of his insights.

Totally agree - Blythe has brought in a lot of value added.  Porino was fine I guess, but his connections to the sport were a bit sparse and he was probably only there because he was available during the skiing offseason and the NBC brain trust figured that the marketing demographics were similar.  Blythe knows everyone in the peloton.

Jens Voigt brought a lot too in my opinion...including Germanisms like "Brailsford is whistling like a scared boy in ze dark forest"

I'm hoping Voigt comes back if they go back to a live presence at the course rather than just studio off the international feed (plus Blythe).  Horner adds a lot of value in the studio too.

Us botched the coverage and only had the last 25 km. Kind of a procession then. No one wanted to pull Van Aert up to the winner.

staying tied with Merckx is cool in its own way. It's not like Pogocar is going to beat them.
