Everybody has a nemesis hole.    If you could grid a nuke to the middle of the fairway   .....   well you know which hole it is for you.    I birdied that par five today.    I'm shocked.
That's why you play!!

Got up early to watch a little of the Open before my tee time at 8:03 AM.    Missus is up because of her crazy work hours.    She decided to watch a little with me because she thinks we're movin' to Scotland.    We discussed the lay of the land, sunrise/sunset hours, etc.    She gets to "What are those holes."    I sez, "They're pot bunkers."     She asks, "What are they for?"    So I told her  ...    :pimp:

https://www.cbssports.com/golf/news/2018-british-open-tee-times-pairings-complete-field-set-for-round-2-on-friday/

An observation ramble:     Watchin' (can't remember who) and he's in a pot bunker, maybe 10 yards from the green.   Hell on earth with the wall in front of him and the green just past the upper edge.    He blasts out and the ball lands on the green and rolls to about 10'.   The announcer (Nobilo I think) sez, "He got too much sand on the shot."     :smh:

I have not played since I moved here. I schedule a lesson tomorrow  to get the rust off and finally get back into the swing of things.

I anticipate I will need more lessons.

It's no wonder one of my ancestry lines left Scotland.     I told the missus I ain't doin' haggis.    She's good with that.    She likes her veggies but does eat fish.

Rained a little this morning.    It's been a dry summer in Scotland.

Poor van de Velde.  19 years later and I just heard his name mentioned for about the 100th time in the past 3 days.

Got an e-mail from the course.    Delayed tee times tomorrow because they couldn't spray during all the recent rain.     :smh:

Headed to the course and they decided to close it for the day (wet conditions and spraying).     Probably open around noon but I'll be at the pool around then.    They'll probably be closed for wet conditions as well.    The young life guards will use any excuse.    :)

Good news is the Senior British Open at St. Andrews is on.    Love the 17th (road hole).    I could kill folks in the hotel with an errant slice.

"Now on the tee from the USA  ....  mitlen.     INCOMING at the hotel."

The record shows that Brooks Koepka won the PGA Championship yesterday...but you'd think Tiger Woods had won, the way his vivandieres in the media were gushing (Ken Carman and Amy Lawrence were unlistenable last night).

The Evian Golf Club near the French Alps where they are playing the women’s tournament has some breathtaking views. The scenery is nice also.

This is the time of year to do it. Scotland will be nothing but rain and gray until next spring.

The only reason to go to Scotland is to go canoeing and drink whisky.
