Isn't Long the guy Murphy swears by? Wonder if he had any influence on either Long or the Nats on this?

Figured this should have its own thread.

We know Kevin Long will be the hitting coach.

Janes is tweeting that Henley will be back as third base coach. Not sure how I feel about this. Maybe he has nudes of Rizzo seeing he's now survived two housecleanings.

Our baserunning has been a disaster for YEARS (frankly since 2005) and it produced some of the most forehead-smacking moments of the playoffs this year.

Worst case, one can see this as a reflection of a team that doesn't care for the details a la Boswell's post-mortem.  Best case, it's b/c Davey Lopes and others suck.

I'll hope for the best case and hope we find someone better this year.

So Daniel Murphy has replaced Jason Werth as our NEW player-GM-manager?... NICE!   :hysterical:

Go NATS!

Sendley is back

I’m still bitter about our early exit so if it were me, I would bring the entire  coaching staff back just so I could FIRE THEM ALL AGAIN!!!

Go Naaaaaaaats!

Henley surviving two house cleanings shows me he is a pretty good coach.

Meh, there's probably no discernible difference between Henley and any other Joe Schmo we'd hire at the 3B Coach. Better to keep continuity I guess.

And he's an example to the kids to use sunscreen.

Frank Howard is a better one. His right ear looks like he went a few rounds with Mike Tyson. I doubt players of his era used sun screen. I know the kids idolizing him did not.

Chip Hale reported as bench coach. Because of course the Nats can't have an offseason without some sort of Arizona connection.

I looked up the reaction at his firing and it seems most DBacks fans either didn't have an opinion, or they felt Hale was lucky to be let go from the AZ front office which seems to be garbage. Had a decent track record in the minors though.
