I had suspected that they were waiting for him to retire / no longer associate with the Los Angeles Angels
He played with two additional teams after the Angels.  And he played the same number of seasons with teams other than the Expos than seasons with the Expos.  In fact,  he played more games with other teams  than with the Expos (by well over 100). So I don't even see how the Expos think they can claim him as their own.

It was already a joke when they began with players who never wore the Nationals uniform but then adding Pudge and Werth. :wtf:

Serious question:    Do you think Senators, Grays, etc. should be in the Nationals Ring of Honor?

Is there actually a Nationals Ring of Honor.  I thought it was just a general DC sports ring of honor (with Redskins, etc.)   Shows you how much attention I  pay, and how much I care.  But if there is a strictly baseball ring, it should be for DC baseball, in which case it would include Senators and Grays.  But if it's a Nationals Ring of Honor, then no, it would not make sense to include them.

It's around the stadium facade (field side).    Anyway, the reason I asked is I'm a bit conflicted by it as well.    I have doubts about Senators and Grays on a Nationals Ring of Honor.    They can be honored elsewhere in the stadium.    I have seen the displays on the 100 level behind home.    I enjoy givin' 'em a read every time I go to the stadium.

I could go either way, personally I like the idea of making the ring a dc baseball ring because that takes care of the expo problem

Yes because those teams actually played in DC.

And for such a minor display of emotion. Umpires are douche bags.

I just dont understand why that fellow in the white and red outfit kept disrupting the umpire trying to perform for the fans

Fine with me.  There can be a separate Nationals Ring (Nationals only, no Expos) and a separate DC Baseball ring, where they make it clear that there are no Nationals in this ring because there is a separate ring.   And know what: wouldn't bother me too much if there were a separate Expos Ring. For historical purposes.   Just don't mix Expos and Nationals.  (Like mixing Orioles and Nationals as one big community on that stupid masn commercial.)

Me either.  I mean, my D.J. Rayburn jersey is my favorite one.

This is the way I feel about it. That's DC baseball. Well, the Grays were really a Pittsburgh/DC team, but still.

Yes because those teams actually played in DC.

Pudge played two seasons for the Nationals (the two worst-hitting seasons of his career) and had a .632 OPS. But he's in the ring of honor. :lmao:

I have no doubt they'll put Bryce in the ring of honor next year the first time Chicago comes to town.

He's on their short list.

He's No. 1 on Diaz's list.

https://sportsinfosolutionsblog.com/2018/09/20/why-does-bryce-harper-have-25-defensive-runs-saved/

Quote
Harper has cost his team 25 runs with his defense this season. He ranks tied for second-worst among all players in Defensive Runs Saved. He has fared poorly both in right field (-16 DRS) and center field (-9).

God knows I'm no Bryce fan.

Oh, and my background is in Astrophysics and computer information systems.

Having said that, Using DRS or UZR or whatever defensive metrics to say that he *cost* xxx many runs is gay as hell..

Defensive metrics are spottier than hitting ones.

Not to mention the pitching ones...

Seriously, do you want to give deGrom the Cy (and even maybe MVP) this year ?

Ummmmm.... even if you don’t want to believe any stat, trust your eyes. Did you watch the last start by deGrom and Scherzer?

Well, not to go all ZDK on this, but if we did sign Bryce, then you trade Rendon and Eaton or Robles.  You can win with Michael A in center if you get your steady offense from other positions and just expect defense with  occasional SBs and some HRs from him as a #8 or #9 hitter.
