Would you trade Robles/ Soto if we got both Yelich and Realmuto?1. SS Turner2. CF Yelich3. RF Harper4. 1B Zimmerman5. 2B Murphy 6. 3B Rendon7. LF Eaton8. C RealmutoBench- Adams, Taylor, DifoOr flip Taylor for a #3 pitcher?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
pretty sure the answer is "yes." So, if we sent $8MM along with wieters, we'd be on the hook for lux tax purposes for $8MM. I'd appreciate a fact check from Corey or Blue911 (or anyone who really knows), but this often comes up in Red Sox deals in the past.
Man, if we could somehow get Yelich and Realmuto WHILE keeping Robles...Would they take Soto, Fedde, Taylor, Severino, and Romero?
Could this work? Nats trade: Robles, Soto, Wieters, Romero, and GoodwinMarlins trade: Yelich, Realmuto, Ziegler, and Barraclough
I'd be reluctant to put in Soto as well as Robles just to get rid of Wieters. We'd also probably have to put in cash. But, I guess under your approach, we have Taylor as a 4th OF.
I am asking this seriously. Why is everyone excited to trade Robles for Yelich? Yelich is good and cheap with years of control, but Robles is cheaper, under control for longer and plays the same position. I know he’s not MLB ready but he’s close. In addition, the current center fielder was worth only 1.5 wins less than Yelich despite missing over two months. If you wanted to trade Robles for Yelich straight up, I could see it. But giving up extra prospects? I don’t see how it makes the Nats significantly better next year or in the future. Is giving up a big chunk of your farm system worth it for 1 extra win in CF? Or 2-3 wins if you assume a major MAT regression.
You never know if Robles will be as good as Yelich, and Yelich has proved his value. Same goes for Realmuto, even if it is a different position. The Nats could see two stud outfielders in Robles and Soto, but Yelich and Realmuto are more known commodities. This deal would also make more sense because that means the outfield is cost controlled and fairly cheap for a few more seasons. That gives the Nats flexibility to sign another starter and lock up Rendon at 3B.
What happened to Matt Albers? It was like mid December when it was reported his signing was imminent.
The White Sox, Kansas City and L.A. Dodgers have completed a three-team, five-player trade, with the Sox acquiring LHP Luis Avilán, RHP Joakim Soria and cash considerations from the Dodgers in exchange for minor-league INF Jake Peter. The Dodgers acquired Soria and LHP Scott Alexander from K.C. in return for INF Erick Mejia and RHP Trevor Oaks.
and this has what to do with the Nats?
I dunno...couldn't find any out of town off season thread for it. Been a pretty slow offseason, I guess. Feel free to move it...or I'll do it if you tell me where to stick it...
Must not respond. Must not respond.
Robles speed tabtilizes me. If he could put up numbers similar to Trea Turner, this lineup would be electric.
