You must have me on ignore.

3 year and 74 mil left. If we can get Detroit to eat 14 mil then we owe him 20 mil a year I think that's Do-able. We won't be finding a legit starter for under 20 mil in free agency.Hell trade them Harper for Zimmerman and James McCann and call it a day.
????
Why not just see how Frazier plays this season and sign Harper next year if he busts? No reason for the YAnkees to sacrifice that much for one year of Harper
They're selling him at his absolute lowest value. Given that the Tigers are in full on rebuild mode, I imagine they may hold on to him until the deadline in the hopes he fixes himself. But if they want to dump him, I'd give up a fringish prospect if they ate enough salary to keep us out of the tax this season.
He also has a no trade clause that disappears after next season, so they have an odd situation of considering trade leverage against their own player when thinking about timing.
I'm fairly confident he would be willing to waive it,
Sure, if they trade him to the Brewers. Remember, he wants to be close to home. That seemed to be the prime consideration when he left us.
I'm fairly confident he would be willing to waive it, knowing that the Tigers are completely rebuilding at this point.
Robles to start the season in AAA. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/nationals-journal/wp/2017/11/27/nationals-plan-on-victor-robles-starting-2018-in-class-aaa/I guess unless he tears it up in ST?
Does Robles still have a clock on his playing time? Like if we keep in in Triple A for two months, do we get an extra year of control?
he has 25 days on the MLB roster. That means we get 6 additional season of control if he's on the MLB roster less than (172-25 =) 147 days. More or less, keep him down through the first week of May will get the Nats an extra year (someone else can do the precise math).
He went to the highest bidder, let's be clear.
Remember, he wants to be close to home.
