Future radar I looked at shows the rain rolling in around 4-4:30 central time. And then getting heavy about an hour later.

Yeah, I took a peek at weather.com earlier.    She ain't lookin' good.

Think they'll get it in? Weather forecast is terrible.

I can’t see how they can finish the game today based on the current forecast.  They would have been better off doing an afternoon game if they were worried about getting it in today.

I just don't understand the insistence on having Werth in the line up?
Makes no sense. Dusty is a stubborn old man. Sometimes that is good but Werth is clearly a defensive liability and they could use Lind's bat.

Another day off wouldn't hurt the Nats

I was thinkin' about that.    There is something to be said about playin' today.      Don't let all this settle in for another cloudy, rainy day.

So I guess Dusty figures that if he shakes up the names real fast like a drink it will be better.

Usually the drink blows up in your face when you do that.

Charlie Slowes was on 106.7 this afternoon and absolutely crushed the braindead imbecile manager for his handling of the pitching staff yesterday. The highlights in response to the idiot wanting to avoid Schwarber and get him out of the lineup:

1. Schwarber is a massive defensive liability.
2. Schwarber has ZERO hits in the series.
3. Schwarber was so bad he was sent down to AAA this year and hit .221 against RHP this year.
4. Almora hit .342 against LHP this year.
5. Almora hit .341 as a pinch hitter this year.

The imbecile literally made a move to get a guy out of the game to face someone who hit .121 points higher against LHP than Schwarber does against RHP. It was quite refreshing to hear such open, unapologetic questioning of the manager's reasoning by one of the announcers. Hopefully that's a sign that the organization knows they absolutely have to get someone with a clue in the dugout after this season.

Some sources are saying the start time has been moved forward an hour to 4:38. (another said 4:30)
Sporting News has mentioned the time change about half hour ago.

UPDATE Sorry I was reading things wrong I didn't noticed the articles I was reading were talking about Central Time. I found it odd that places like MLB was not mentioning the pushed up time.

Do you guys expect Dusty to move Strasburg up to Game 4 and Gio in Game 5 if the game is rained out today?  That would be the logical move but I could see Dusty not wanting to throw anyone off their rhythm by switching things up and/or wanting to keep Stasburg for Game 5.

Terrible reasoning I know and I don't mean to rip on your manager but, well, he was our manager too once upon a time.

Oops Sorry I didn't notice they were saying "LOCAL" time which would be Central. Sorry for the confusion folks.

Oh ok, I'm always trying to recalculate the time to match me, for some reason I thought it started at 4:38 EST today.

Cubs announced they’ll stick with Arrieta if today is postponed.  Nats haven’t said anything.

Ugh...2-3" of rain predicted tonight. Sounds like Joe Torre is there and he makes the call.

Chip Caray‏
@kapaya1234

Rain approaching Wrigley tonight. TBS was asked to start game at 1 PM, and refused.  Huh.

It makes sense because I'm sure the ratings would take a hit but, yeah, I didn't realize that was an option.

What about people travelling to the game?  If you've got a couple hour commute and they move the game up before you've left your house you'd be kind of screwed, no?
