it is not Dusty he cant get hits

he cant pitch the same relievers day after day

Solis has been great for awhile

it happens EVERY game 1 team loses
even Maddon the Genius made moves that didnt pan out

blaming Dusty is ridiculous
He takes his share. Lind never batted. Pitched to Rizzo. Kendrick owns Quintana but didn't start or even bat. Turner is lost but no Difo.

Well then, maybe the geriatric oaf on the bench should try some different hitters.

Hey, some of my best friends are geriatric oafs.    :old:

At the end of the day this lineup wasted two absolutely brilliant pitching performances.

Getting hits or not. We had a lead going into the 7th. One run game in a playoff game 3, for better or worse, your moves are magnified. Shows whether you are a winner or a loser. And we arent winners

Naw. They wasted one. Dusty wasted the other.
Is this serious?
Are you? Max had no business coming out for the 6th,,let along the 7th. Could have mixed and matched through two innings and handed the ball to Madson.

That killer deal with the A's to shore up the bullpen sure paid off.  Oh wait, they both rode the pine tonight while the others blew the lead and the game.   I used to like Dusty, but this was terrible.   Sure he isn't the guys who aren't hitting, but he is the guy who won't give other guys a chance to, or have any idea how to manage a pitching staff or bullpen.

If the Lineup could have managed 1 earned run today the game would still be going on. This lineup that is 1 and 2 in OPS, BA, etc.  has scored in 3 of 27 inning and scored 7 runs in 3 games. You don’t win if you don’t score. I don’t care if you have the love child of Sparky Anderson and Earl Weaver in that dugout. Nobody’s winning with that offensive performance.

Dusty made mistakes, sure. But these guys need to hit.

If he thought outside the box and really wanted to pitch to Rizzo he could have brought in Doolittle and then had him pitch the 8th. Of course if you can't score without the aid of errors they were doomed anyhow.

NatNasty should do the Game 4 GDT, based on the Most Wins Theory. mitlen got our only win with that method. If we win Game 4, then RobDibblesGhost should do Game 5.

.600 12-8   NatNasty
  .600   9-6   RobDibblesGhost
  .600   3-2   mmzznnxx
  .571   4-3   RiotAct
  .538   7-6   spidernat
  .400   2-3   DPMOmaha
  .471   8-9   bluestreak

Also, Tanner Roark and Max Scherzer have the exact same number of postseason wins for the Nationals

My eyes say they all let up.   That's why I felt MAT should have said, "Get the hell out of the way."

Span would have had that ball...  :hysterical:

True, we still have to hit. But we had a LEAD going into the 7th with our 7th, 8th, and 9th inning lights-out close-out guys after a day off. Kintzler was the only one who pitched. And he was unnecessarily lifted when we had a base open for Rizzo.  This is the playoffs. Mistakes kill you

Not if it's Matt Williams (game 2 vs. Giants) or Davey Johnson (game 5 vs. Cardinals)....Dusty is just continuing a long standing Nats tradition.
