Is Scherzer really done?
Probably. Hard to do this with a busted hammy

It wasn't a bad throw...
It wasn't  a good throw, either. But the play should have been made.

Looks like he has lost all command...

Scherzer got a DP ball to end the inning.  Leadfoot didn't catch the throw.

Just because Zimmerman made a crappy play for the ball doesn't mean it wasn't a bad throw, as well

Oh crap.  I guess he needs to be pulled.  Which means he won't be and we're about to be down 3-0

That's gotta be it for Max. Get Tanner up. Tell Stephen he's going on short rest and have him throw his bullpen tonight.

Good job getting out of that mess. Hopefully Max can get his control back and go another 3-4 innings if needed.

I'd give him another batter or two, see if he gets it back together.

Honestly if Max can give us a solid 6 we need to take our money and run to the BP

Bottom of the 4th
Jay hit by pitch.
Bryant flied out to left.
Rizzo grounded into fielder's choice to second, Jay out at second, Rizzo to second on throwing error by shortstop Turner.
Contreras walked.
Zobrist grounded out to shortstop.

Um... I'm sure that would work out well.

Max hopefully has one more inning.  I don't know if his hamstring is coming into play, but he really wasn't stretched out before the injury, so hard to imagine he could make it past the sixth, or into the sixth even.

He's thrown 58 pitches and despite some command issues there, he's allowed one HBP, 1 walk, and zero hits.  I can't imagine the noises on here if he gets pulled before allowing a hit and then the bullpen goes Full Storen.

I’d even take Turner flying out to the outfield this AB vs what he’s shown us thus far.

I thought the same thing.    "A bat flip on a walk?"

And trotting out Tanner after losing Game 3 will work out well too?
