There's something to be said for that.  Modern closers so rarely come in with men on base that they're almost like starters that way.  But it puts the manager in a tough spot, because the media up there would crucify him for losing with anything other than his best pitchers on the mound.

the sox are down in that series because their SP has been terrible. Gave up at least one run in every first inning of the series.

You know, maybe this injury is forcing Max to  not freak around with too many pitches? We'll see how it goes the second time through the order. Pitcher and batter in the same light plane now.
