Imagine if Kershaw has a brilliant performance in relief and gets the game 7 win.

I'm old enough to recall when your ace started Games 1, 4 and 7 if needed. That was unquestioned. Screw "rest."

The organist they have is pretty good.

Agree. A lot younger than Gladys Gooding too.

Well the argument has been made that he should have started game 5 AND game 7.

My first world series paying attention, Gibson went games 1, 4, and 7 and Jim Lonborg went 2, 5, and 7.  Lonnie got shelled :(

Ralph Terry went games 2, 5, & 7 in 1962 vs SF Giants.  He pitched well enough in Game 7 to help the Yankees win

That was not unheard of either. Lew Burdette of the Milwaukee Braves comes to mind. He won three games in that Series -- Games 2, 5. and 7 as the Braves won the series against the NYY. All three games he pitched were COMPLETE GAMES; threw shutouts in Games 5 and 7.

Talk about going with the hot hand!

Sounds like Darvish may  have been tipping his pitches.

He was. He's had issues with that since coming back from TJS

The dodgers took out a full page ad in the Houston Chronicle congratulating the Astros. Very classy.
