Harper gets a night off.  Probably to save him from running down balls hit to the gaps in OF all night.

Word on the street is Hawpah asked for the day off to hang with bluesteak and his in-laws.

They showed packers fans on the news burning their packers gear and claiming they were no longer packer fans. I don't understand this crap. Am I missing something or does it seem that some people are only OK with protests that align with their personal views? :smh:

No. It's the way the Nats have been playing that makes it all appear dark.

Your comment made me think about how dark the old Cap Centre was.

Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly like people using the anthem as a way of protest. I don't like it when people yell crap during the anthem but at the same time I would be perfectly OK with them skipping the practice altogether. I also think it's an empty gesture (both singing the anthem and protesting during it). These protest are not going to accomplish a damn thing. It's not going to stop skittish cops from killing people. I just don't get the ire over the protest. I watch sports for the action between the lines. I don't give a freak about athletes' social or political views. But if they want to do something that I see as insignificant, It's not going to stop me from watching the games.

Damn it's been so long that I don't even remember that. I hear people now referring to the Capital One Arena as the new Cap Center.  :D

I'm First Amendment 100% but I ain't burnin' my Steelers' flag.

The problem is that some people are only 1st amendment part of the time (and that goes for both sides of the political aisle).

I think that the answer to your question is yes. But what’s really happened is we have entered some type of surreal silly season where everyone now feels they have to prove their “patriotism” to everyone else. Because most sane people would probably just turn off the TV or sell their tickets and gear.

Did I mention religion's like that too?     I guess I covered all the taboo subjects.    :)    Your right to "protest" is unrevokeable (is that a word).

It's hard to believe that. And I doubt these people are truly going to stop being fans of said teams. Of course we have people here who oscillate back and forth between teams so for some people it isn't tough. :? But how stupid are these idiots going to feel on the day they actually go out and buy NEW team gear? :lmao:

Not sure you've been on the site as long but we often discuss faux patriotism, particularly as it relates to sports.    This could be a topic in uncensored but I don't go there.     Too young   ...

Or find out the protesters had a point to make.

I saw two guys almost come to blows in the Loft during the anthem one day.
