The Rangers set their new ballpark’s dimensions to honor past players:

https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/rangers/2019/12/04/texas-rangers-reveal-outfield-dimensions-for-globe-life-field-see-how-they-compare-to-globe-life-park/
and they are honoring Ron Washington with 2 white powdery lines marking fair territory.

Bleh. Surprised it's not Family Dollar or something.

20 years of getting money from Miller and now a 15 year deal with this life insurance company and the Lerners are holding out for what????

I wonder if it's tied up in the MASN dispute somehow. Gotta be something.

I realize it's money in the team's pocket if they sell the rights, but I really, really like not having Corporation Park. It feels more iconic to have a 2019 World Series flag at Nats Park than say, Visa Stadium. Even worse when it changes multiple times like the MCI/Verizon/Capital One Center.

I would have no issues with naming the park Ted Lerner Field.  It would be extremely appropriate IMHO.

I'd accept that as well, but I would love it to always be Nats Park.

American Family is sticking its name on everything in Wisconsin. And if a stadium was going to have a corporate name, there wasn’t a better fit possible than Miller Park in Milwaukee.

FBN just reported that Justin Timberlake has joined a group of investors that wants to bring a MLB team to Nashville.

No aside from the usual suspects of Tampa and Oakland.

MLB is going to be looking hard at expansion because of the free $$$ it brings in. The group in Nashville here is pretty legit but the biggest hurdle of course is a stadium. No way they get public funding for it and finding a billionaire who will build it himself will be difficult.

Also Manfred has mentioned Nashville every time relocation/expansion comes up so I'd think we're on the shortlist. Charlotte would be very on brand for MLB (the panera bread of cities) and Portland makes sense for filling a gap in the PNW. Nashville is unique in both location (gap in the mid-south of no teams, in-between Cincy and Atlanta, driveable to Chicago, STL, etc.) and in the fact that it offers MLB a chance to partner with massive entertainment infrastructure. No other city in consideration comes close to that opportunity.

Should be pretty interesting.

There's also a group trying to bring a team to Orlando, though that doesn't seem too realistic. If anything, there won't be ANY Major League teams in Florida in a couple decades.

I think they are counting on Tampa leaving.
