After team bus doesn’t show up, Padres travel from hotel to AT&T Park via double decker tourist bus. https://twitter.com/annieheilbrunn/status/1010929160506576897?s=21

If there's something still on the line for that series in Denver to close the season, I'll probably make the trip out for those games.

Good time at Comerica Park tonight. Interesting 1-0 game. Unfortunately the home guys lost. Will provide a further update.

The bad news is that Marlins man was there in the next section. He held court between innings and pitching changes as they flocked to see him and have their pictures taken with him.

Do they still have the Tiger merry-go-round?  I love merry-go-rounds (and fortunately have no dignity) and I had a great time riding it. I thought they did a great job carrying the Tiger motif all through the ballpark.

Yep. It's right in the food court behind the first base side.

Comerica Park.

My son and I attended a game at Comerica Park in Detroit on a Friday evening a few weeks ago.  The Tigers hosted the Red Sox so the place was packed even with rain all day and the threat of more.  Luckily for us the rain held off until about the sixth inning and was only light.  The game was not stopped.

We stayed in Windsor and drove over before the game.  I suppose there is a chance to get held up in Customs before or after the game but there was a better choice of reasonable accommodations on the side.  And Tim Horton's of course.  We parked about a block away from the stadium in a public lot for $20--cheap compared to DC for sure.  After entering the stadium, we had a couple "Detroit dogs".  As best I could tell it was some kind of a chili sauce (like a Cincy coney with chili) and onions--good dog but nothing special.  We got those at a food court which was on the first base side behind home plate.  As imprecise noted, there is a Tiger merry go round there for the kids.  Proceeded to walk all around the first level and saw the monuments in the outfield.  Didn't realize that Willie Horton was born in Virginia.

We has some "street" tacos later on the same food court--those were good for ballpark food. And not too pricey as I recall.

We sat in section 127 behind home plate, row 18--$151 for a pair of seats on StubHub.  I assume games against lesser teams and during the week are cheaper.  The low lite of the game was having Marlins man there right below.  I could not believe all the people who came down to talk to him and take pictures between innings and during other breaks.  You could see he was lapping up the attention.  No fake celebrities for me.

We had considered sitting in some stand alone seats that have tables next to them which were located just higher up also behind home plate.  They were pricey and was glad we didn't.  They were just a basic chair and a small table for each two seats--the bottom of the seats had some padding but not the backs.  Sounded better in the write-ups than they looked.  I forget what they call those seats.

We did a few things in Detroit.  The day before we parked at the Greektown Casino and ate some greek food down the street.  Walked down and through the GM renaissance center to the river.  Some nice views.  The next day was spent at Point Pelee park which is about 1 1/2 hours from Windsor on Lake Erie.  We also went to the For Museum of Innovations which was also very cool.

All in all a good visit--I would highly recommend a trek to Detroit and Comerica Park.  I believe the Nats might play there in 2019.

Up to 9 of the current parks for me as I continue and check them off the bucket list. (10 counting the old SD stadium).  Next year might try and hit St. Louis/KC and maybe Pittsburgh.

Reminds me of the night I was at Nats' Park and the lights went out  ...   three times.    At least our Park's back-ups were functioning.    IIRC we only lost the main banks of lights.      Can't imagine bein' in a crowd like that and completely losing the lights  ...   for any amount of time.

Headin' to Seattle in early September.     Reds and White Sox are in Seattle over that time.    Thinking about goin' to T-Mobile.    I figure tickets ought to be easy to score.     M-i-L lives in a suburb.    I'm thinking about bribing (i. e. paying) the missus to take her mother shopping  ...   or something in Seattle.     Of course, I'll go to the Park.    :)

Essentially need to know about mass transit to the Park from downtown and/or the southern 'burbs.

I don't know the whole system, but I was out there in October and, IIRC, at least one line goes by the baseball stadium.  You can even get to / from SeaTac.  I think there are multiple lines and at least one heads north.  Whether you must switch, and how far it goes, I dunno.

I was lookin' at the map and there's a light transit stop (end of line) at Angle Lake (south of SEATAC).     Thinking maybe the missus could drop me off there.

OT    Can't go Sunday the 15th  ....  Seahawks are playin' the Steelers in W. PA.     May be 10 AM Pacific.    I like that.
