I've been to Fenway, Shea (the old one), Camden Yards, Turner Field (now gone), Chase Field, Marlins Park, Guarantee Rate Field (when it was US Cellular Park), Miller Park, Petco, and AT&T Park.

Of those, Chase, Petco, Camden, and AT&T were my favorites, with AT&T being the overall best (even though it was April and about 50 degrees.)

Oh gosh, y'all want any writeups on the Texas ballparks?

Yankee Stadium is not worth going to.
I've heard even their peanuts are crap.

The one decent thing there is the food, but really that's just if you're rich enough to experience their club-level offerings. The concessions are totally fine but nothing noteworthy. The stadium itself is a giant concrete mall with a baseball field in it. It's awful. By far the worst MLB stadium I've experienced.

I'm glad I got to see the old Yankee Stadium back in 2004 (couldn't believe the number and variety of concessions on offer; unfortunately Monument Park was closed that day)...haven't been to the new one yet.

He was able to see the signs the TB catcher was throwing down from behind home plate?

Of interest was the catcher - one Wilson Ramos.

Looks like there is no separate link for GABP but wanted to add a couple of things to do near the ballpark if you are in Cincy to attend a game.

Carew Tower Observation Deck is just a few blocks from the stadium and affords a great view of the surrounding areas.  Just a few blocks from the stadium across from Fountain Square.  Just $4 per person.

Moerlein Lager House: Just across from the stadium and had a great view of the river if you sit outside or near the windows.  I believe PB69 said he went here while visiting.  Great selection of Moerlein beers and ales along with others.  The Moer-Burger was great: in addition to the burger it included bacon, pastrami, cheddar cheese, and a fried egg.  Guaranteed to harden your arteries.  Wife had the fish tacos and those were good also.  I imagine it gets quite  crowded on a game day.

Overnighting in Cincy to/from Chicago next month (actually staying across the River in Covington), but, sadly, no time to further explore the city on this trip...

No problem.

there is a lottery for opening day tickets that is posted at the Reds web site. I believe you have to buy tickets for another game also.   Here is the link to last year's notice. I have no idea if they restrict it to local addresses.

http://m.mlb.com/reds/tickets/info/opening-day-ticket-opportunity

They have also changed the day of the parade which is making people here unhappy. It will be on the Monday after the Nata series rather than on opening day.

That location will be much nicer and hopefully better for attendance.

Ybor City is awesome but seems like an odd location for the stadium given the characteristics of it.  I can't imagine where they'd have room for a whole stadium without uprooting a lot of local businesses.  It would be kind of like putting a stadium in downtown Annapolis (I know they have Navy's stadium, but that's on the very edge of it, halfway to Parole).

But I guess if they do have room for it, it would be a fantastic place to go see a game.  Not quite Wrigleyville, but top ten if not five in the league in terms of atmosphere around the stadium.
