I forget which round of expansion it was but Buffalo was seriously considered for an MLB team. Maybe it was an older park, but it held 19K, they were packing it, and it could have been expanded. IDK if it was the Rockies/Dbacks round, or the TB/TOR round.

It was the 1993 expansion.

And I was wrong on the seating at Buffalo - it does hold 16,000.    I’ve been in a lot of new ballparks this trip and conflated their ballpark with another one.


Folks here seem to be very enthusiastic sports fans so I can see why they were considered for a MLB team.
