True dat.    I don't get the whole "fan experience" thing.    I've never had a bad day at the Park.

"Fan experience" is for those fans who come to games not to see baseball but more to have an"'experience" and it better happen between the 4th and 7th innings or they will miss it.

The DC Circulator stops like 2 blocks from the ballpark and it takes you to Union Station where you can park for like $15 and also not have to deal with metro or the neighborhood traffic.

Great idea but Union Station prices might not be that cheap.

You know, you can walk from Union Station in 30 minutes.

If you are willing to walk that far, you certainly have a lot more options, for sure.

I've seen street parking on Fort McNair mentioned on several sites, there will be more people circling than spots available. As much as I hate to pay I want a spot waiting for me when I get there.

For Game 5 on Parkwhiz:

541 S. Capitol St SW
Pacific Parking

$11.76

0.8 mi

Booked. I've never parked there, but to save $60 and walk past traffic I'll take it. Hoping not to need that pass.

Jack Evans says it’s all on Nationals if Metro doesn’t stay open for playoff games.

Is that the lot under the freeway? Their posted hours are 6am - 7pm but they're always open for games.

Evans should be the first one replaced when the Metro board is downsized.

That's my go-to lot. I discovered an easy route to get there that avoids pregame traffic (via 14th St and Independence Ave) and it's easy to get out and back on the freeway after the game. Most of the spaces are under cover and it's only $10. It's a little bit of a walk to the park but it's not bad at all.

I'm too damn lazy to walk that far so I try to park on the street a bit closer. But for Opening Day and playoff games I want to have a spot reserved so thanks to you and tomterp I'm all set.

I'd think so.    It's only across the Capitol grounds from Capitol South.    That's some of the most protected land in America.    Plus, Ray D'd be packin'.

Yeah, it's very safe just about any time and certainly after a game when crowds will be out. As a pedestrian, you are more likely to get hurt by a car from the traffic leaving the game, tbh.

Yeah, I'd say take 1st street all the way - past Capitol South Metro - past Library of Congress, Supreme Court, through the Capitol grounds.  Can't get much safer than that.  Me, I walk to/from  Eastern Market (I have a space there). Roughly the same length.  I don't feel 100% safe on that path late at night, but I think I would feel 100% safe on the path to Union Station.

By the way I'm not packing. You don't want to get me started on guns.

The Nats chief of revenue just announced that the team will be handing out K cards to fans entering the ballpark. That makes the $65 standing room prices easier to understand.

We do Capitol South pretty frequently. Might have to give this a go.
