AJ Cole and Adrian Sanchez have left the building according to Mark Zuckerman so it looks like they won't be on the roster.

I wonder why they left. Just because they aren't on the roster doesn't mean they won't be around the team for the next 3, 4 or 5 games.

Maybe that's not allowed?

Nah, just think it's a bit trite at this point to bring up 2012 when there are so many more recent failures at this point.   My point isn't that I'm offended, just that you're trolling.  But there comes a time when it's time to let some of the crappy memories go.  At some point just wallowing in consistent misery from the past tends to poison the present, at least in my view.  I'm also not a fan of ad-hominem-by-gif arguments, so I guess we differ on that point too.  Enjoy.

Castillo reporting Robles will be on the roster.

 Jorge Castillo @jorgecastillo
Victor Robles will be on the Nationals' NLDS roster, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

Also this:
Jorge Castillo @jorgecastillo
Brian Goodwin also made the roster, per source. Pedro Severino didn't.

I think these moves make sense, as each adds something to the team skill set.  Might have preferred Severino to Lobaton, but that's splitting hairs.   Kinda think Cole should have made it due to pitching staff questions, and his recent performance.   I guess they're confident Max is healthy for game 3  but  not game 2?

I don't understand Goodwin. Hasn't played a game in over a month and he's supposed to step right back in and pick up where he left off?  In the playoffs? I mead, there really isn't time to let him get back to speed. What do we give him to regain his timing? Ten at bats?

They sent him to the instructional leagues for a long while. But I’m gonna guess he’s MAT insurance more than anything. That leaves them free to use Robles to bat or run if needed.

THat's asking a lot. I think we'd be better off just keeping De Aza, to be honest.

What happened to Raburn. Did he die and I missed the obit?

Probably hired on as Special Facial Hair Growth Coach. Trea is tired of getting carded all the time.

Also think he is Werth D replacement insurance too.

They probably figure with Goodwin that, when he's right, he is clearly the 4th OF, and if he gets hurt, they can DL him and add Severino, De Aza, Stevenson, etc...  As for the batting eye, they probably have seen enough in the instructional league and practice this week to think he can walk in and hit. Simple swing, good discipline.  It let's them use Robles to pinch run if behind or as a defensive replacement if ahead.

He's also an additional LH pinch hitter, a second potential pinch runner, and the backup at all 3 outfield positions.  He probably would go into the starting lineup ahead of Robles against the RH starters.  Dusty and Maddon both like to play left-right, and Goodwin is an opportunity for both of the old men to have some fun with that.
