Is FP drunk?

he knows it's just the 7 of us still watching.

And anyway, why wouldn't any of us be drunk by now?

You win that one tomterp, but only because it was Lobaton's fault that the batter reached base.

Is FP drunk?

About 1/2 hour ago, the same thought crossed my mind.    He was having trouble puttin' words together and the words he found were slurred.

Lobaton has had 22 starts and 8 of them have been catching Roark. 2 others were catching Turner and 2 more catching Ross. That's over 50% with crap on the mound, unless you blame him for them being crap (which you probably do :smh:).

Good info - thanks. I definitely don't blame him but I'm curious as to how pitch-calling could impact a game. I homestly don't know how much of a difference it makes and maybe it doesn't. Like I said, when Lobaton plays, so does much of the B lineup so that doesn't help things. Trust me, this team has a ton of issues and the backup catcher isn't one of them.

I guess I just get sick of certain pet players always getting excuses for bad play. You're right about the B lineup. But pitchers and pitching coaches are so involved in the game plan that I don't give catchers as much credit/blame as I would two generations ago. I just don't like to let pitchers off the hook for crappy performance.

Lobaton was smart there on that called third strike, conserving his energy for calling pitches.

It was that ball bustin' flight on a charter from DC to St. Louis at 8 PM last night.    It'll wear a fella out.
