I must have missed Feinstein's column after Strasburg was the World Series MVP.
I honestly think JF wants Strasburg to be hurt for the next few years so he can say, "I told you so," like the World Series just didn't happen. Man that guy sucks so much. Good writer though.
Romero has made 3 starts so far in Fredricksburg - 9.2 IP, 2.79 ERA, 1.76 WHIP. 2BB, 14Ks, 15H. He's gone four innings each in his last two starts. Last start: 4IP, 8H, 2ER, 1BB, 6Ks
8 hits, 6 outs by contact. That looks weird. This is low A, too, after he was pitching in the majors last year. That he can pile up Ks against that level of competition shouldn't be a surprise. To me, this doesn't look that dominant.
He’s thrown less than 60 innings since was drafted in 2017.
Sad Seth Romero started and lost last night for Harrisburg. Pulled in the second inning after giving up 5 runs. But he's back to AA.
I think he could be a reliever. Was he just getting in some work after being out, or is this a pattern this year?
We were there last night. He looked fine in the 1st, then fell apart in the 2nd. He was pulled in the middle of an at bat on a 3-2 count, after having given up those 5 runs, including a grand slam. He looked utterly defeated as he walked off the mound. Not sure what has happened to him, but I wonder how long the organization will stick with him.
I’m just confused why he’s still being developed as a starter. He has 31.2 innings in 10 starts this year. He has exactly 2 starts longer than 4 innings.
