PBJ sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you have plenty leftover for the bar.

In Charleston (A ball) I hung out with some guys from the DR who were on the team together. It was a two-bedroom apartment and they had 2 mattresses to each room plus 2 more in the living room, no sheets, just blankets. Guys made their own rice and beans/chicken for every meal not at the ballpark or on the road.

And this was an organization that actually treats their minor leaguers OK! And beyond OK in some cases (the team offered free english classes for all non-natives, free rides to/from the ballpark, more food than just PBJ in the clubhouse - especially if in Tampa, etc.)

i'm a little surprise there's been no stories on Fredericksburg.  Granted, they aren't doing much other  than working out and playing each other, but you'd think checking in on Cavalli and some of the Ps closer to the majors, and some of the position players, would be worth a once a week check in from Dougherty, Svrluga, Sheinen, Boz (or Chelsea!) even if on video.

Nationals announced Minor League managers for 2021 (assuming they actually play games):
Rochester (AAA) – Matt LeCroy
Harrisburg (AA) – Tripp Keister
Wilmington (A+) – Tommy Shields
Fredericksburg (A-) – Mario Lisson

not a top 30 prospect, but MLB.com lists Cody Wilson as the best speed among our prospects.
Quote
Nationals: Cody Wilson, OF
The 24-year-old outfielder wasn’t ranked among Washington’s Top 30 prospects at the end of 2020 and (spoiler alert) won’t be there to begin 2021 either because of the way his offensive skills have lagged since he was a 2018 13th-rounder out of Florida Atlantic. But the Nationals are a big believer in the way Wilson, who stole 22 bases in 77 games for Class A Hagerstown in 2019, can fly and have said this spring they believe he could start in a Major League center field today. Wilson is a non-roster invitee this spring and could show off that ability in Grapefruit League action.
I'm calling BS on "he could start in a Major League center field today."

He wouldn't be awful on defense.  He's significantly more advanced on that side than Robles was in A-ball.  He'd also make pitcher offense look like Soto.  Dude's a banjo hitter.

So you are saying basically Herb Washington on offense capable of shagging flies.  Tell me, is his arm bad enough that we'd be better off with him running the ball in?

I don't really remember seeing him tested, but I'd guess his arm is somewhere between Johnny Damon and Rick Ankiel.

thanks for narrowing that down.  I now realize he has an arm located near his shoulder and it potentially could be on a baseball field.

As long as Manny is there for the cutoff throw.

I posted a picture of that recently in the thread on great relay throws, right after posting a pic of the Bazooka Arm (a/k/a the Bazouki Bat).

It should have gotten both of them into the Hall of Fame, just like Mark Sanchez should be a shoo-in for the Butt Fumble.
