Mr Met flips off a fan.

They should apologize to Mr. Met for puttin' up with Mets' fans.

So are people still panicing?

Its amazing that there are still folks who don't understand the ebbs and flows of a 162 game season.

Hell even the god awful 2009 Nats took 2/3 from the Yankees(who went on to win it all that year)IN Yankee Stadium.

15 games over .500, 10.5 game lead in the division. With this bullpen. Either Dusty is really good at keeping this team together or the division is very very sad.

Per Rosenthal the Marlins are willing to listen to offers for Yelich. I would love to see this be our deadline move if we trade Robles.

What's Yelich's contract situation?

Team friendly. 5 years left on 7/$85m or something like that.

I'd give up Robles and Fedde for him. Can you imagine an OF of Eaton,Yelich and a re-signed Harp with Taylor and Goodwin as the 4 and 5th OF's?

Yes, the NL East is weak, but we are feasting on the big bad NL West.

3-0 vs SF
2-0 vs LA
3-1 vs Col
2-1 vs Ariz
2-1 vs SD

12-3

They just signed him to a long term deal. I can't imagine he'd be cheap. I'd hate to blow the team on a guy that still doesn't fix the biggest hole on this team (the pen).

I mean, is Robles and Soto enough to get Yelich and David Phelps? I don't like the idea of trading away the best talent in the farm system without using any of it to get the bullpen help we will need in the playoffs.

So .... random thought: What about trading with the Reds? Say Soto,  Jesus Luzardo, Drew Ward, and Tyler Watson for Billy Hamilton and Raisel Iglesias

Yelich would command an Eaton package for the same reasons. Similar age, similar skills, dynamite contract.

Why do we want Hamilton? He's fast but he can't get on base.

Gets on base more than Taylor and plays elite defense in CF

I think Yelich would hit 25+ HR and hit .300 in a park not named Marlins Park.

Barely more, and fine, but not nearly the priority a lot of other things could be. This is the same marginal upgrade you're arguing against in the 5th starter thread.

I heard somewhere he doesn't believe in launch angle, and tries to hit grounders. In Miami I almost can't blame him, but imagine what our real hitting coach (Murphy) could do for that kid.
