You crack me up. Escobar was out of the league for years and you want to see if his late 2021 stats were not a mirage. On any other player you would have concluded that those were fools gold. Hernandez has never been a good SS even when younger. So why would anyone seem to think he can play it now?  The Nats obviously do not which is why they are playing DSG there. Escobar will be DFAed by the end of the month.

It is likely that Escobar is done now and I bet he will get DFA'd. Now it's all on DSG to see if he can show some value and get dealt at the deadline.

Wasn't Dee mostly a 2B also (like Cesar)?  I don't think he will fetch much if anything either.  He was avalyaibe for free in the offseason. Franco maybe don't think he will keep up the hitting.

Yup, not a SS, but if he hits enough, he could be dealt. I don't have the confidence he will hit enough, but we can all hope.

Dee Gordon played SS when he came up and for about three. Then moved mostly to 2B in 2013: 728 games at 2B and 179 at SS.

he's probably fast enough and his arm weak enough that he could run the ball to first faster than he could throw it.

No but 7 errors in 111 chances at SS. Not so great.  Bring him up anyway.

I am ok with the bulk of the play going to DSG. Garcia will be up 8/1, unless it has been time manipulation, in which case he'll be up this week.
