Garcia is really struggling at Harrisburg this year, hitting .216 / .262 / .259 and just 5-30 over his last 10 games.

He just turned 19 and he's playing against guys who are mostly 24-25 with all those years spent playing a ton of baseball.   Struggles are normal.  It's really rare that someone begin the season in AA at 18.

Yep. Ironically, he might end up being the better player, over Keiboom

Garcia isn’t going anywhere.  He’s either here at SS or 2B in 2021.

Yep. And Garcia is 19. No way we trade him.  He’ll likely be a top 50 prospect going into 2020

He doesnt have Boras as his agent, so the odds are significantly better.

Given that in 2021, we will likely have holes in RF, 1B, catcher, and the pen, I dont think hes anywhere near untouchable.

I said he was having a "good run"

Those are nice stats for a 20 year old in an advanced minor league setting.

Especially when you consider hes only 19. Hell even be 19 on Opening Day next year. Not 20 until May.

That's the impressive thing to me. Hes handles himself well for being so young at every stop. The power numbers have not been good, but hes a teenager. Hes not likely to hit 20 at any point in his career, but he should develop more power as he continues to mature. Theres a lot of development left.

uh yeah, after 7 games he was tearing it up (posted in September 29), by October 23 he was still having a good run.

Do you not understand dates, or are you trying to step into the void left by BiL's departure?

there's a nice defensive highlight from the AFL title game. He went 2 for4.

IS it possible he comes up in May next year? I am resigned that Rendon is probably going to Texas. So do we start grooming Kieboom for 3rd or sign someone and let him play 2b this year and move him over after 2020.

let's see if he can even hit for a .700 OPS in AA before we even think of him as a future MLB player

Had nothing to do with dates.  You denied you said "tearing it up" when you had said it a few replies ago.  Doesn't matter when it was.  If it changed with time, you could have clarified that instead of denying it.

Or are you trying to step into Potomac Cannons' void all these years later?

Come on the rest of mlb sees that Rizzo is aggressive with guys he thinks are MLB talents. He isnt known as a power giy just a very good hitter that knows the strike zone.

Whenever I see this thread on the main page, it is abbreviated to “Follow the Prospects: Lu...” and my brain fills in the rest as “...cas Giolito”.
