Losing JJ Watt and Odell Beckham for the season the same day and having Gronk sit out due to injury reminds you of why the owners and the league want you to root for the laundry and not the stuffing in it.  Only a few players have their own brands.  Watt is going to go 2 years without playing, and the odds of Gronk finishing a year healthy is only a bit better than a Jerry Garcia hologram sitting in with the rest of the Dead on tour this year.

Ridin' around listening to 106.7 this morning when I heard the injury reports.    There may not be widespread panic but somebody in New York is a little puckered over the developments so far this season.

The league markets and protects QBs. Luck being broken and Carr losing so much time to injury is probably worse for the league than high profile receivers of pass rushers going down.

Beckham and Gronk are pitchmen for Dunkins.  Gronk, by the way, has saved all his NFL paychecks and lives off his endorsements.  Watt is a pitchman for a few products.  He's retired, but Wilfork doing Kingsford is a great one.  But yes, the cult of the QB is the big $$ one.  Rodgers and state farm have found a way to spread the wealth.

I mean, Tom Terrific is still playing so it's a little close.

Yeah, I think spider is a bit off there.  Top three are Aaron, Brady, and Brees - you can reasonably make an argument for any of them.

Eh, JJ Watt is a bigger personality in the league than both those guys. So is Beckham.

This Bears team might be one of the worst ever.  I almost want to see John Fox barbecued at half time to make this game interesting.

You mean Sammy Sleeves. Looks like the problem might be he has shortened his sleeves.

You mean Monday night?

But yeah, whoever scheduled the Bears to play primetime games in back-to-back weeks had to have been sharing the wares of the Dolphins' coaching staff.

Wow. It's such a bad game that I automatically equated it with Thursday night.

Big Dick Bradford likely out for the season now. Welcome Case “Fooking” Keenum.
