I think the Surplus Catcher for Betances trade proposal would not be fair. To even it out, the Yankees would have to throw in Gary Sanchez who, after all, would be squeezed out of a job in New York by the Surplus Catcher. Now that would be fair.

I don't really like the idea of gutting our OF depth. Any chance we can trade the rights to Nook Logan instead?

they like lefties because Gardy and Ellsbury are getting old.  Brian Goodwin, but they have to through a set-up guy.

I meant in 2019. Frazier, Mateo, Harper with Judge at first

That's the first time you've ever suggested waiting to trade Harper. :)

Everyone kind of assumes Harper is going to the Yankees, but what about the Dodgers? Close to home, better weather, celebrity city. Plus Boras clients generally go where the most money is.

I don't know. I guess the smart money would be on the Yankees getting both Machado and Harper, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if one of them ended up on the Dodgers, who like the Yankees have a ton of money rolling off the payroll over the next two years.

Not trading. Yankees just sign him for 500 gazillion buckeroos.

IF we were going to trade him, it was going to be after 2015. Now we're selling low. Gotta way till he crushes it this season and THEN we can move him for a haul.

Dodgers are gonna go after Arenado, and will be paying their guys too. Doesn't seem like as good of a fit. Then again, I think his perfect fit is stay with the Nats, unlike most of the motherfreakers on here.

Harper to the Dodgers, unless the Padres move to Vegas and are willing to spend big to get started.  (not that that's happening, just saying I agree he'd prefer west coast to NYC).  Machado to Phillies, who will have payroll and are ready to start spending.  Nats will be still be decent post-Harper between 2019-2021 (after that is too far to too predict), but the big competition in the division will the Braves.
