Just saw on Morning Lineup that the Panda is returning to the Giants...nice try but it's gotten to the point where only a 1951-scale stretch drive can save the Giants this year.

they are looking at trading nunez so bringing back the Fat One on a minor league deal makes some sense.

Watching the Cards @ Cubs right now.  Quite the pitching duel if you're into that sort of thing.

Kershaw to the the DL with back issues. Same thing that sidelined him for 2.5 months last season. That may be the only thing that can cool down the red-hot Dodgers.

Never rooting for injuries, especially the best in the game. The Doyers have been pretty lucky as far the injury bug goes.

They were reportedly pursuing Darvish pretty hard before Kershaw's injury.  Not that anyone can replace Kershaw, but you could do a lot worse than Darvish.

I enjoyed that entirely too much for not being a fan of an NL Central team.

boxberger in the process of blowing up in the 9th v. the NYY in a tie game.  Loads the bases on a BB, HBP, and a blown coverage on a sac bun turned into a hit.

... and Gardner with the walk-off single.

Watch out for the NYY.

Yoan Mocanda and Willy Garcia had a nasty collision in the OF, amazingly they just have contusions.  It looked liked Garcia would have been seriously injured given the blow he took to his head:

Been seeing a ton of Cody Bellinger for MVP talk lately.  Is everyone in the media high or are there just that many Dodgers homers?

They're high. He's ROY. Lock that down. That's it.

I think he's got a case. The Dodgers turned pretty quickly after he came up.

He should get some votes  but Harper has him beat in every category.

This team has lost Eaton, Werth, Turner, Strasburg and Scherzer to injury at some point this season.

Cannot be understated how important Bryce is to this team. Rendon and Murphy and even Zimm have been excellent, but Bryce is the best of the bunch. Don't think he'll win. Bellinger has the "narrative."

That drum in Cleveland would drive me crazy if I had to listen to it for an entire ballgame...much less an entire season...
