Casey Stern just basically said "LAC" on Inside Pitch (XM 89 - MLB Network Radio).   He said that he would be really upset at the way the Nationals organization is run (were he a Nats' fan).  We have no excuse for running the franchise this way and we are in the same financial bracket as the Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs, Dodgers, etc.

When I turn to MLB XM, if Casey Stern is on I usually flip to another station right away.  He usually doesn't have much interesting to say.  Having acquired Wieters and with a good chance of getting Robinson, we will have put together a top 3 team - I don't think any teams other than Cubs or Dodgers can make a credible claim to be as good.   And we're supposed to be unhappy?

Can't figure that one out. Audi is giving the United something like $60 million for 12 years. The Nats rights would have to be worth 4-5x more. That's a lot of free agent money.

no, we are a notch below in terms of team revenues.  We are in the next tier.  We don't behave that way, but that's where we should be.

It would make sense, but I've never seen it discussed by experts anywhere. I mean, what are they waiting for? How big an offer do they need? Or maybe no one wants to make one anymore? There's only so many big corporations that are willing to get virtually nothing except a sign in return for multiple tens of millions.
