I don't know, normally, New Yorkers don't warm up to guys who act like jerks.   (Sure there are exception -- Joe Namath was a jerk and was hugely popular, but that was due to the circumstances.)   New Yorkers never warmed up to ARod for example.   The most popular Yankee in my lifetime was Mantle.  And he was a quiet, unassuming guy.   They like guys who produce, but do it with a degree of decorum.

Aaron Judge hit .270/.366/.489 last year, which is really close to Harper. Only Harper was a 20-year old major leaguer and Judge was a 24-year old in AAA.

They'll find a trading partner for Judge, or they'll put him on the Staten Island ferry. They won't give one freak if they sign Harper.

Oh, I agree, I'm arguing that they won't be interested in dealing for him now and if all goes to plan, they could weigh Machado vs. Harper and find that Machado is more valuable because they don't have anyone decent to stick at 3B.
