Weird. Gaithersburg isn't that far away from you, and it's not even breezy here.

pretty calm in western Oakton too.

It's been sporadic here. 5-10 min of strong winds then it calms for a bit.

Power is out   came back on around 6 AM.

WTOP is saying winds maxed out at over 60 MPH last night as the t-storm rolled through the area.  It's not too bad now, winds around 20, but they are expected to pick up as the sun rises and begins the heat the atmosphere again.

Visiting Papa Krystalburg and the brother  up in southern New Hamster this weekend +.  I made a Dunkins run at 7:15 this morning.  Temperature, in February, at that time - 52 (11 Centigrade for our overseas folks).  They had 30+" two weeks ago, and anything getting sun exposure has melted.

Anyone else feeling like they fell asleep and woke up in June?  Severe T-Storm watch for most of the area west of D.C. until 5 PM.

Amazing forecast the next few days:

Today: 76, T-Storms, windy
Thursday: 51, sunny, windy
Friday: 42, snow, windy

Most of the next three days winds will sit at around 20 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH.

I took off from New Hamster around 12:15 before the storms came in and landed at DCA around 2:10 after this stuff blew through.  Weird landing - definite 1 -2-3 on the wheels as we were swaying in gusts.  Had to kill time on the way in, so looped over BWI, then went south of DCA, crosses the potomac west of great falls, circled and crossed back south along the beltway, then took a left over Ft Belvoir and the potomac on the way back north.

Yikes.  Landing at dca is crazy enough without all the wind.

The Euro model is showing a big snowstorm from Southern Ohio to the Atlantic, with snow from the NC/VA border through the Northeast.  Most of the accumulating snow is centered around Southern Ohio, WV, and Western MD/PA.  The model shows around 10" or more for much of the D.C. area.   Bottom right image below is forecasted snow totals.  We're six days out so this will likely change quite a bit.

Could be, but it certainly won't be snow here.  But there will be a St. Patrick's Day Parade that we can walk to on the beach road.  So being crap-faced won't hurt my feelings at all.

That's going to steamroll right over Mathguy.
