Per SF Giants beat writer Henry Schulman on twitter:

Melancon to DL. Return of pronator strain. Getting diagnostics. Reliever-turned-starter Dan Slania coming up from AA. #sfgiants

Rizzo always been a great jeans salesman. Could be his chance to break into the plus-size market.

Thanks, Tomterp!  Bally is on his way today to AAA for the Giants! He has 21 K's and only 3 walks in 19.2 innings. He is topping out at 94 to 95 MPH. They definitely like his consistency and pounding of the strike zone.  Being inconsistent had plagued him for years. No offense to the Giants, but man do I wish Collin was a Washington National! Spinman! :old:

Maybe this player should go to the Nats as a reliever. His 2010-2011 ( 2 seasons) with the Nats numbers are as follows...

40 games- 56.2 innings, 62 K's,  24, earned runs, 25 walks and an ERA of 3.84 as a reliever.  If  someone is out there with those numbers I would think the Nats would sign that guy in a heartbeat!
Who is that guy????   :old: Hint...this year in the minors he has 23 K's and 3 walks with a 3.23 era in 21 innings.

Bally had 2 more K's last night in AAA with no walks and 1 hit and no runs in 1 inning of relief.

22 innings, 25 k's and 3 walks in the minors in 2017. :woop:

LOL! #55. He is such a different pitcher this time around. So much more control. I think all the Tommy John pain is now gone and he is finally just having fun.
What a dream to come true if Bally could be with the Nats on their quest for a World Series title in 2017.

Wouldn't that be a story line "one of the last "Expos" winning a World Series title with the team that drafted him in 2004! :woop: :woop:  :old:

Worst kept secret in baseball, Nats' bullpen needs help!   Could Bally become the last player drafted by the 'spos to take the field in MLB?

Sadly, probably not.  He and Desmond are the same age, and Desmond has a multi-year contract.  He'd have to get back to the majors and stick for several years.  Even for a talented guy, several years in your 30s as a reliever after the crazy road Bally's had is a tall order.  Love to see it, though.

Rays Release Derek Norris

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/06/rays-designate-derek-norris-activate-wilson-ramos.html?fv-home=true&post-id=95598

It is bizarre how often those two have had a direct result on each others' roster status in their careers.

JZ ended the first half with a  5.87 ERA.  He gets his first start since July 7 tonight.

He had a great start tonight. Maybe there's still hope.
