Tyler Clippard looks terrific saving Chapman from blowing the game, would be so nice if we'd gotten him back :(

He's pretty much the one reliever I miss more than any other.

Zuck's excellent article about Guthire "one month later" :  http://www.masnsports.com/nationals-pastime/2017/05/one-month-later-guthrie-still-coping-with-career-ending-start.html

His commentary about the team is pretty nice.

That's a great read. Once a player is cut they're usually out of sight, out of mind so it's nice to be reminded they have real lives as well, thanks for posting that.

A part of me thinks he should have gone back to 'cuse and given it another shot.  One bad outing doesn't mean he's worthless.  But on the other hand he's made enough coin over his career that he shouldn't need the money.  Guess his heart just wasn't in it.

I think he's already been relegated to the bench as a pinch runner/late defensive replacement. They gave him a month to produce but it didn't work out. There is no amount of defense worth keeping that bum in the everyday lineup.

It's a shame you can't DH for anything but the pitcher.

I don't think it's written into the rules it has to be the pitcher.

Why didn't someone tell Rizzo that?

Sadly, it is. I looked it up to see if it could be done for him.

Drew Storen just hit 3 Yankees (Gary Sanchez, Aaron Hicks, Chase Headley) in one inning :hysterical:

Simmons was HBP and had to come out of the game so Espinosa enters the game and strikes out.

Melancon just landed on the 10 day DL with a pronator muscle strain, that's his first-ever DL stint.

Ian Desmond off the DL and hitting .308 for the Rockies (equivalent of .238 for teams that play home games on Earth) while mostly playing LF with some 1B mixed in.

Yikes. That's a frequent hopeful misdiagnosis of injuries that end up requiring Tommy John.

Tommy Milone goes 5 IP 2 R with an RBI in his first start for the Mets. Always liked him.
