and yet, he's hitting .230, driving in a ton of runs, and fielding well.  He is what he is. He's never going to be the guy you want when a little contact is needed, but those aren't the aspects of his game that keep him a starter in the majors.

But the peeps here can't let him go.  :hysterical:

Wow, had never heard of him before but yea definitely heard of a few cases of this.  I knew about Ankiel but had forgotten all about Daniel Bard, man his downfall was swift and painful.

Mark Wohlers had it too.  I remember seeing him pitching a game in AAA when he was trying to make it back.  It was tough to watch - he really did look like he was about to cry out there - but he eventually made it back to the majors, albeit never being what he was before.

The Rockies broadcast had him on non stop the first few innings. Showed him taking balls in the outfield and they said he might play there in addition to 1B.

Didn't know Chris Marrero had made it to the majors.  In fact, I had forgotten about him.

Has started several games for the Giants this year.

I liked it before Twitter.    They posted it on the bulletin board or the boss called ya in.    On occasion, they simply shut down the whole damn place.     Ya went to the corner bar and commiserated.    Mac over there had 35 years in the Blooming Mill.    Pete has a kid in college and only 25 years in the mill.    He can't even qualify for a pension yet.    There's Joe.    "freak him.    He worked in the Blast Furnace and was a prick.   Plus, he cheated at golf."

"Hey Nancy, shots of tequila for everyone."

Looks like Nick Pivetta is scheduled to start Sunday.  Luckily we got so much good use out of Papelbum that we won't worry about how good Pivetta does.   :mg:

He's probably an A.J. Cole, but I'll be pulling for him because I always pull for my local boys.

Yea. He has never been a top prospect but pitched well in Double A last year.  And apparently this year.

Creditors trying to chase down Marlins hero Livan Hernandez

Looks like Livo owes a friend for repayment of a loan and also owes for child support and he's been skipping court.

I suppose the best move would be to stay in the D.R. and not show up throwing first pitches at Marlins Park.
