Hey skippy. We made it to a blue wahoos game tonight.  Adrian nieto is on the team.

I just saw this, I actually had no recollection of who Adrian Nieto was but I shall cheer for him my next Wahoos game

  He was in Potomac, Low-A, a few years ago and got selected by the White Sox in the rule-5 draft.  They were so desperate for catching that he actually stuck with the team for a year.  Since then he's bounced back around the minors.

Devin Morasoco (current Red, not a former Nat). was there last week on a rehab assignment as well.  I think he'll be there a few more weeks.  He hit a go-ahead single with the bases loaded and two outs in the 8th at last Monday's game.

That is a beautiful ballpark.

Right?  I can't tell you how that park revitalized downtown Pensacola, when people say stadiums don't do that I think well it did in our little town I was there the night before you but I don't think he played that night, it's always fun when we get to see a rehabbing big leaguer. Anyway sounds like you got to see a good game

Jordan Zimmerman after 3 starts: 5.94 ERA and 1.50 WHIP.  Kind of sad to see how quickly he has fallen apart.  In his last start he gave up 5 runs in 6 innings on 10 hits against Tampa.

It's extremely sad, Jordan was a good guy it seemed   He was also a really good pitcher for awhile, how on earth did he just lose the ability to pitch?

With two out in the second inning Thursday at Minute Maid Park, Angels second baseman Danny Espinosa stepped to the plate with a runner on first base. He struck out swinging.

His day went that way. With two out in the seventh, he batted with runners at first and second. He struck out swinging.

With two out in the ninth, Espinosa batted with runners at second and third. A single surely would have tied the score and probably would have given the Angels the lead. Again, he struck out swinging.

After the game, he stewed at his locker for a long time and declined to speak to reporters.

“Not today,” he said.

His rough game stretched his strikeout total to 26, with one walk. He is tied for the major league lead in strikeouts among qualified hitters, only two of whom have draw fewer walks.

Espinosa has long been a high-strikeout hitter. He led the National League with 189 in 2012 and last season struck out 174 times in 601 plate appearances.

Also, Alex Meyer will start for the Angels and Matt Latos will start against them.

and yet, he's hitting .230, driving in a ton of runs, and fielding well.  He is what he is. He's never going to be the guy you want when a little contact is needed, but those aren't the aspects of his game that keep him a starter in the majors.

I never got tired of him being who he is. I got tired of him pretending he was working really hard to fix anything. I think he's a rockhead who never adjusts anything, he just pretends to be upset or sad about his performance because its easier to get people off his back that way. LOOK HOW MUCH I CARE.

Wow, had never heard of him before but yea definitely heard of a few cases of this.  I knew about Ankiel but had forgotten all about Daniel Bard, man his downfall was swift and painful.
