The #WhiteSox will get Lucas Giolito and two other minor-league pitchers from the #Nats once the #WhiteSox approve the medicals for Eaton

I like adding more speed and on-base to the top of the lineup, plus Eaton isn't some slap hitter. Still in his prime, good contract, good all-around player. Definitely preferable to 'Cutch.

Source confirms: #Nationals, if deal is completed, will send Lucas Giolito, Dane Dunning and Reynaldo Lopez to #WhiteSox for Eaton.

Ouch. That hurts.

Ain't gonna happen, they're playing us again.  Have you seen his contract:
$4 million in 2017
$6 million in 2018
$8.4 million in 2019.
club options $9.5 million for 2020
club option $10.5 million for 2021

With a contract that team-friendly, they'll probably want more than they wanted for Sale.

Wow, that's a lot of minor pitching depth to clear out. But probably worth it. All come with some risk.

Other than the fact he has played more in CF in the bigs than he has any other position.

I'm only upset about Lopez really. Figured he would be the possible closer assuming the Nats get literally no one else.

But now I'd be cool trading Robles with Eaton locked up for five seasons.

It makes sense to deal our minor league pitching. Again, our window is open for just 2 more years. We're rebuilding in 2019 anyways. Accept it, it's happening.

For next 2 years, you have:

Scherzer
Strasburg
Roark
Ross
Gonzalez/rotating 5th starter

Turner
Eaton
Murphy
Harper
Werth
Rendon
Zimmerman
Norris
P

That is a...great lineup and rotation.
